    NOW Broadband is the broadband brand of NOW, the streaming service, and is run by Sky. Since its packages became "NOW Broadband Powered by Sky", new customers are sent to Sky.com to finish their order, use the My Sky app to manage their account, and are supported by Sky advisers.

    The range is small: three full fibre packages, while Sky’s NOW help pages also list a part fibre Superfast plan. Check which offers are currently listed for your address. There is no gigabit package.

    Good to know: Streaming is separate. The broadband offers shown here do not include a NOW membership unless expressly stated.

    Broadband Types and Speeds

    NOW quotes average download speeds at peak times, measured to the router, not over Wi-Fi. NOW follows Ofcom's voluntary speed code, so you should get a personal estimate and a minimum guaranteed speed before you order.

    Who NOW May Suit

    It may suit you if

    Households that want a simple choice of everyday speeds and do not need more than 300Mbps. Its packages cover streaming, video calls and home working for most homes.

    It may be less suitable if

    • You want gigabit speeds.
    • You want to know every price rise before you sign. NOW Powered by Sky only says prices may change during the 24 month term.

    Router, Installation, Fees and Contracts

    Router

    A loaned Sky Hub is included with every package. It must be returned when your broadband ends.

    Installation and set-up fees

    NOW's terms say delivery and activation charges may apply, and non-standard set-up may cost more. Current offers can differ, so the charges on your deal and contract apply. If your home has never had full fibre, an engineer usually needs to visit to fit it.

    Phone line

    Line rental and Sky Talk Pay as You Talk are included at no monthly charge, so you pay only for calls you make. On full fibre, calls run over your broadband. Sky Talk call plans and Sky WiFi Max are separate 24 month contracts.

    Check: Sky says calls over broadband are not suitable if you have no mobile signal at home or rely on your landline to call emergency services.

    Contract length

    NOW contracts run for 24 months. The price after the minimum term is set out at checkout.

    Price rises

    NOW Powered by Sky says prices may change during the minimum term. Check the price-change terms and any cancellation rights in your Sky contract summary before ordering.

    Speed guarantee

    NOW’s speed guarantee lets you leave your broadband and Talk contracts without early termination charges if the download speed to your Sky Hub stays below your guaranteed minimum for three consecutive days and Sky confirms it cannot fix the problem. Total loss of service and major outages do not count towards those three days, and speed checks must be done through Sky. Check the full guarantee terms.

    Help with costs

    NOW's legacy social tariff, NOW Broadband Basics, is only open to existing NOW members on certain benefits. New customers are directed to NOW Powered by Sky's Basics tariff instead.

    Is NOW Broadband the same as Sky Broadband?

    NOW Broadband is supplied by Sky, uses a Sky Hub and is supported by Sky. The packages and prices are different, so compare the two at your address.

    Do I need a phone line with NOW Broadband?

    No separate line is needed. Line rental and Pay as You Talk calls are included at no monthly charge, and on full fibre calls run over your broadband instead of a copper line.

    Can my NOW price go up during the contract?

    NOW Powered by Sky says prices may change during the minimum term. Your Sky contract summary sets out how changes work and any right to cancel.

    Does NOW Broadband include a NOW membership?

    Not unless the offer says so. You can buy a NOW streaming membership separately.
