How we compare broadband deals

Broadband Scout is a UK broadband comparison service designed to help households find broadband deals available at their address and compare speeds, prices and contract terms in one place.

We compare broadband services from major UK providers including BT, Sky, Vodafone, TalkTalk, Plusnet, NOW, EE and Virgin Media, along with selected alternative and wireless broadband networks where available.

How availability is checked

Broadband availability varies by postcode and often by individual property.

When you enter your postcode and address, Broadband Scout uses coverage data and network information to identify which broadband technologies and providers may serve your location. This can include full fibre (FTTP), cable broadband and 5G home broadband where available.

We aim to show broadband deals from providers that are available at your address based on postcode and coverage data. Availability checks are applied where possible and continue to expand as additional network data is integrated.

How deals are ranked

By default, broadband deals are ordered using a combination of factors including:

  • average monthly price
  • speed tier
  • overall contract value
  • confirmed availability

You can change the sorting at any time, for example by lowest price or highest speed.

Deals are presented in a consistent format so you can clearly compare speeds, pricing and contract terms.

How Broadband Scout makes money

Broadband Scout is free for users.

Some broadband providers pay us a commission if you choose a deal through our site. This is known as an affiliate commission.

Commercial relationships do not affect:

  • which providers we include
  • whether a deal appears
  • how deals are ranked

Our comparison aims to remain impartial regardless of commercial arrangements.

Our editorial approach

Broadband Scout aims to provide accurate and up-to-date broadband comparisons based on UK availability data and provider information.

We do not charge users to compare deals, and we do not prioritise providers based on payment.

Our goal is to make it easier for UK households to understand and compare broadband options available at their address.
